Default Banks

While programming my radio I was attempting to separate police from fire in my area using different banks. I now realize that they use many of the same frequencies and its just a jumble regardless of the banks. Is there any way to seperate them so I can focus on just one?

It would be very helpful to tell us:

What scanner you are using... (older scanners use "banks", some newer ones don't)

Where you are and exactly what you are trying to listen to...

Are you manually programming or using software...

If using software, which one?

We can give you much better help with that info.

I'm going to presume that you are listening to the SNACC system on your scanner. To have PD and FD in separate banks, You'll need to program each bank with the Henderson trunking frequencies and input the TGID's for the PD/FD into the separate banks. Then you can turn the banks on and off at your pleasure

Larry

That system has been rebanded. The PRO-528 can not follow rebanded freqs. (freqs. that have a zero in the 4th decimal place, like 851.3500). You can enter all the freqs. into your scanner but you will hear only parts of conversations.

If this is the system he's listening to and he's using the Henderson site, it may not be re-banded yet, if so the database wasn't updated.

If you looked at the Henderson site you would see that every freq. is a rebanded freq.

The Henderson site shows 866-868 frequencies, which are not rebanded frequencies. Take a look at the Site Details page, the rebanded flag is not set for that site. Highpockets is correct.

Lake Las Vegas - Henderson Site Details (Clark County - Southern Nevada Area Communications Council (SNACC))

The correct post-rebanding frequencies for that site would be:

851.275
851.775
852.050
852.800
853.950

Are you sure they are using that site? This one seems to be current.

That may also explain why it's still in the RRDB with all the pre-rebanding frequencies. Probably something for one of the local admins to take a look at, and to delete that site if it's no longer valid.
