New Scanner just Arrived

Well, today I just received my new BCT-15X, my question to all, what do I need to do 1st, 2nd, etc to get my local twp police, fire n ems? I also did purchase the ARC-XT PRO Software disc and the USB wire. So whatever u can help me with plz advise. Thanks all, Steve.

The easy to read manual is a great start. Second, you should review all the possible things to monitor here: Ocean County Most of the county is on this trunking system: Ocean County Trunking System
Third, Connect the scanner and set-up using "Scanner", "Communication setup", "Auto Detect"

Forth, decide what you want(you could get it all with ARCXT, except any system marked P-25), and use ARCXT to log onto this site using "Internet, RR". Select your state and county, and the yellow Trunk systems. Select "Ocean County Motorola" under trunk systems drop down list, select All sites, and talkgroups, and click Green import at bottom right . Then repeat this, but select blue conventional, and then select the things you want to import. Once you are satisfied with what you have downloaded, send it to the scanner. One time ONLY, select "delete all systems" and "send all systems". From then on, Select "Over write systems with same name" and "send selected systems"

Ok, then download this: New Jersey State Police Trunking System, under trunking, and select the site closest to you. Some of what you might want for local PD/FD is Project-25 digital.

i'm afraid you are out of luck with the bct-15. not only is ocean twp. <monmouth co.> digital,but it's also encrypted. so are some of the other town's in monmouth/ocean county. when the new monmouth county trs comes online,all the police agencies that use it will also be encrypted.
