What antenna should I get?

Hey all,

So I've noticed recently since I setup my PRO-2055 base scanner that even when I monitor all the cities in my area (Greater Vancouver) I only actually receive transmissions in my 5-8 mile radius (Burnaby only...) but still want to listen to the other cities around me such as Richmond, Vancouver, Surrey, Coquitlam, etc... what good scanners are out there that have 25+ mile radius at a good price? Thanks.

A scanners range depends on the antenna its using and the terrain in the area.

So what kind of terrain do you have? And what is the main freq bands you listen too?

Before you purchase a new scanner, you need to take a look at your antenna system. If your antenna is not up to par, then a new scanner will not necessarily fix the issue.

Maybe you could explain your antenna set up?
