I live in the NYC area and want to be a stringer and have a beginner!
I plan to do video and photography of crime scenes in Jersey City, Hoboken, Manhattan. I need to know the best and fastest way to get real time information so I can get to the scene fast! Which is the best, purchasing a mobile digital scanner; or subscribing to a text service like IPN :: IPN :: Nationwide Fire & Police Incident Notification or using a smartphone app such as 5-0 radio? Local police use a digital trunk system and I will need to get feeds from at least 3 police departments including Port Authority Police.
Please make recommendations for the best mobile devices I should get.
