Bearcat BC125AT

New to scannong just got a Bearcat 125.
2 questions
what kind of range should I expect with the short rubber antenna that came with it.
When I go to scan it says all locked yet when I follow the procedure to unlock nothing happens ???
other than that I can search and got to listen to some stuff last night plus the marine weather.

Out of the box all memory channels 1 through 10 are locked out by default until you start programming frequencies in. If you program one or more frequencies in, say memory bank 1 it will automatically unlock itself. All other memory banks will remain locked out until you enter some frequencies into them. You can't unlock memory banks until you put something in them.

K4DPS has some good videos on the BC125AT.This one shows you how to program freqs in your scanner.
I watched this video and it made programming the BC125AT very easy.
