All these insane people out there, killing innocent victims and not enough asylums and electric chairs to go around!
I think I'll build an asylum tailored just for scum that kill innocents like those kids & firefighters!!

Did I miss something in this audio .... Please tell me the Cops aren't leaving this guy laying there.... is the traffic indicating that the Cops are staging someplace (because the scene isn't secure?) after the Firefighters were killed and an injured Firefighter is asking for help?

It didn't appear that there are any times aired to determine how long he's been calling for help.

This audio was edited for "White noise" and was condensed together so there would be no delay. If you read the print at the begining of the clip it explains. I listened to this tragic event a few times and I think it is very safe to say that the First Responders, Police (A number of agencies), Medics(a number of ALS units dispatched), and of course fellow brethren Fire Fighters in NO WAY were leaving their Brothers laying in wait. This tragic event could have been much worse if responders went running to their aid and did not follow protocol. The audio clearly states that the shooter was still at large and still taking shots with a "high power assault weapon" it was dark outside and the injured Firefighter you were hearing was in a somewhat "safe" location taking cover under his wrecked Rig. according to the audio and other info this response was textbook, professional, and as a result no other brethren were lost. This is a time to come together to mourn, for comfort, and to heal. This is not the time to be critical of the police or any of the first responders. I was not there however after hearing the audio I wished I could have jumped through the computer and helped myself, can you imagine how those on scene felt? May God be with the families, those involved, and with the Fallen during this time of confusion and pain.

(Confuzzled) Hi and Merry Christmas to you and a Happy and Healthy New Year. Very good streaming video from that local TV station up in Rochester, NY. This shows me that even being a firefighter or a volunteer firefighter is NO longer safe. What is this world coming too? How this alleged suspect ever got out of jail is beyond my wildest imagination. What is wrong with our justice system? Just food for thought. Any other members want to comment on this?

To make a VERY long story short... the PD did exactly the right thing. The first arriving officer was met with rifle fire in the dark-- out in the open. The officer engaged (shot at) the male, but was met with return fire. The officer had to retreat a little for cover. The incoming officers established a perimeter while an active shooter team could be created because the f*ckstain was behind a natural berm ACROSS from the house on fire. (He set an ambush for the first responders.) Webster and Irondequoit PD's are town PD's with only a few cars on during the night shift.

To "rush in" for the fallen firefighters would have just added another victim. The douche with a rifle was shooting his victims within a 100'. We're lucky the 2 injured survived.

Sorry I'm a bit blunt, but I've known (knew) Chip for 10+yrs both personally and professionally. There is NOTHING that could have been done differently to change the outcome, other than the d!ckbag not being there to begin with.

tpg's got it exactly right. I spent all day yesterday and early this morning communicating with 9-1-1 folks and firefighters in Monroe County. Things were done the right way throughout this horrifying incident.

I was fortunate enough to do active shooter training with Rochester PD in the year after Columbine. The sheriff's department and all the town and village PD's throughout the county all receive the same training programs and in-service updates as RPD. I know they've all undergone a lot more intensive training in the years since I retired. They followed protocol all the way.

Wonder if they'll ever figure out 'why'? These guys always have a reason of some kind even if no one else can understand it.

People who bludgeon their own 90 yr old grandmother with a hammer should not be released from prison after 17 years. They should have put this pig down once convicted. Very sad.

Media is now saying a body has been recovered from his house, probably the missing sister.

But there was also a statement earlier that all of the other houses hadn't been cleared to see if there were other victims. Does anybody know if the other residents are all accounted for?
