NYC Dept of Corrections already have a bunch of Astro Sabers in service. Mostly ESU units.

DSNY is likely to have XTS2500 as part of their fleet radios. Unknown if they will be used on the conventional system but they will be used on the upcoming DOITT UHF Trunking system.

Default Dsny

I found out that the DSNY is starting to install the Motorola XTL 1500 in all the garages. a few in Brooklyn North has it already. the field units are suppose to be getting the XTL 2500

the current atro sabers will be taken out of the field and replaced with the above models.

this is for DSNY general everyday operation, including when the field units start with the salting during the snow storm emergencies...

it is set for conventional analog mode 453 megs

If anyone is close enough if they could get the model and flashcode we could see if these radios are factory flashed for trunking and possible use on a DOITT system.

The UHF DOITT System is only going to be used for public safety.

DSNY will not be on the system. it is not considered a public safety agency
