Plane crashes into Clarence Center home

An aircraft identified by State Police as a USAirways prop plane crashed into a house in Clarence Center shortly after 10 p.m. tonight, starting a fire which poured thick smoke throughout the hamlet.

Police said that there were only crew members aboard the plane and they had reported mechanical problems as they approached Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

Reports said the crash site was 6050 Long Road, not far from the Clarence Center Fire Hall on Clarence Center Road. Police said that one man was in the residence at the time of the crash.

Here's a link to the Airband scanner feed at BUF at the time of the crash:
http://archive-server.liveatc.net/kb...2009-0300Z.mp3

You can hear multiple calls to the flight from ATC with no response.

Scanner activity has seemed to die down, reported that FAA and FBI reps have arrived at command center. I am going to bed, I'll leave he feed up for the rest of the night.

Any chance it's scanning Channel 5? All the vehicles on scene are switching over to that.

I have fire f-5 in the scan, should be coming up if activity, that may be a simplex, non-repeated channel. I am about 13 miles from crash site.

I am going to have to bring the Streaming server down soon (Same computer I use for work)

I have wave files of the ATC traffic from the incident, and I recorded the entire feed (silence removed) about 11:00 till 7:00am this morning if anyone is interested let me know.
