In the FCC database this week Erie County had a number of license modifications and changes for UHF frequencies. I am curious if anyone knows what frequencies they will be using for the fire controls in the southern part of the county. I do know that they are now using 424.150 for Emergency Services frequency in lieu of the old 155.760 frequency. I also am wondering if they are using any of the old Sheriffs UHF frequencies for anything since they are in the license modifications that were sent in.

The Springbrook Fire Control has a modification in for their UHF frequency which I am told that this will become the dispatch frequency for East Aurora Fire Control.

Anyone have any more information?

What kind of license modifications were granted? If you are just looking to see what agencies have had modifications, then the fact of a modification means very little. They might have changed a mailing address.

I have heard them move conversations off to channel 6 & 7. I was unable to find them on any of the
published freqs. However, they may have been out of my range, but, I would of expected to hear
something.

I wouldn't have posted if it was a change of mailing address. The modifications were for additional transmitter sites for their current frequencies. This would make sense as they are moving to a simulcast system for fire/ems/pd over the next year.

Many of the channels with higher numbers are simplex only.

The UHF system in Erie County is undergoing a lot of changes and I hope this post might help a little. Amherst Fire is looking to increase its power output on the mobiles. Lancaster Fire is going to be changing all of their frequencies very soon. The only thing I know is that the present Bowmansville Fire Dispatch is going to be the New Lancaster Fire dispatch frequency for Lancaster and Alden FD"S. The other frequencies will be used also but I do not know the set up yet. The only other thing I heard is that Erie County is going to use a Sherrifs UHF frequency for fire dispatch in the south towns.

Take Care everyone!

Seems to me that they need a few more frequencies. I find it interesting that for the past 50+ years
3 or 4 lowband channels worked fine for the same geographical area.

Past chief s.b.f.d.

453.8750 - dpl tone 065 -this is permanet dispatch freq* note they are still similcasting - low band also , 46.24 mhzz until installation is complete

this freq is is owned ,fcc lic , by spring brook fire district

the complete uhf system for east aurora fire dispatch is not currently setup fully, they have to set up several more repeaters throughout the coverage area. They are saying , install complete late summer/ early fall 2011

spring brook has several more fcc lic freq's , for now , not being used except for ;

458.8750 - dpl tone 445 / fire tac 2 / this is somewhat low power so far
[town of elma tac 2 freq]
you may be interested in the inter-op freq's also , like within county communications and

buffalo fire / county fire direct communications* note town of elma has contract with buffalo fire for hazmat response from city , buffalo sends hazmat1 and other units upon request from fire chief relating to hazmat incident

further south uhf installations will start after east aurora is complete, not confirmed but heard , 460.4000 , old sheriff freq. May be dispatch freq , like for springville fire control. Hopes this answers your question somewhat.
