The State Police are being dispatched more often by local communication centers on area police channels, especially in heavily populated areas.

MDTs & 154.695

only three counties in WNY use a MDT system, AFAIK - Cattaraugus, Genesee, and Orleans. the SP version of MDT won't be "fully" online for several more years even though AVL is being slowly rolled out statewide.

A lot of the radio traffic will be on the county MRD systems. Troop channels normally are for running NYSPIN data and for units to call in/out of service on. keep Statewide 154.695 handy though because any emergency radio traffic is supposed to go over that channel or a unit can't be called on the Troop channel they'll try them on Statewide.
