Default Babylon Central Fire Alarm

Well it's been a year since receiving their UHF license, but now activity has begun. Babylon town FDs are simulcasting their VHF [46.34] on 472.300/132dpl. The signal is good for 15 miles. I guess 60+ years of tradition is hard to change. Hopefully there is enough $ in the budget to keep the ball rolling. I guess the other 2 freqs [472.125 & 472.375] are for alerting and fire ground ops.

175,

I understand from another forum (W2LIE's) that 472.125 (D132) is being used to multicast 46.340 and that 472.300 (D132) is multicasting 46.460, with no news yet on 472.375 or 471.800.

Benjamin Franklin must have known when he was asked...we couldn't "keep it."

All I've heard was 46.34 over 472.300
