Question Raised Terror Alert........what would be the interop frequency used?

I was watching on the news last night that the NY State National Guard will be increasing its patrol at NY Penn Station along with the Amtrak PD. I already know the frequencies for the Amtrak PD, however what frequencies do the NY National Guard use. I know in NJ, they are part of a talk group within the state PD TRUNKED system. Is this the same case for NY state? Furthermore, God forbid something did happen....how in the world would the Amtrak PD, NYPD, and National Guard communicate with each other if they all use different frequencies? Is there a common Interop frequency(ies) that all of these departments will go to (have in their radios), so they could effectively communicate with each other?? Thanks for any help.

It's the UNGA (United Nations General Assembly) you get a lot of activity during this period!

The so-called Homeland Security frequencies are listed in the RR database under the NY State Federal section. However, they are all either P25 or completely encrypted which would make sense. However, there are many agencies that coordinate with each other that provide Homeland Security operations including the Coast Guard, Port Authority, NYPD, Amtrak PD, etc....My question is that IF something actually did happen, how would all these agencies communicate with each other?? Is there a set of frequencies ALL of these agencies have in their radios for interops? I would assume that these frequencies would be the TAC and UTAC frequencies mentioned on the RR database and perhaps SPEN 2, but perhaps someone has a little more info on this.

Furthermore, yesterday I was scanning the bands for the heck of it and came across 169.450 MHz. There seemed to be an FBI surveillance operation taking place. They were following some one around the upper east side of Manhattan and watching his every movement. Very exciting to listen to, especially since it wasn't in digital mode. However, then I realized that I was hearing an IMAGE and wasn't actually tuning into the correct frequency. For my old scanner, the image frequency is normally 21.4 MHz higher or lower, so that would most likely put it at either 148.050 or 126.650. They didn't stay on the air long enough for me to cross reference it though. Has anyone else confirmed hearing anything similar on these frequencies? With the raised terror alert, we may be hearing a lot of cool stuff in the government bands and obviously it's not all P25 either.

Good chance you were not hearing an image, but rather US Customs Net 2;

If it WASb an image 126.050 is a common frequencies used along the Hudson River. To answer your question the UTACs,VTACs do have the ability to be crosspatched. I was down at the NJOEM converence and they have portable devices that fit into a suitcase where you can connect radios that aer on different bands to this gizmo and patches all the frequencies together. So the NYPD, the feds and whoevcer else hooks a portable radio up to this device and instant interoperbility

169.4500 would be Customs Net-02 for the Repeater and Tac-02 if Simplex. 100.0 Hz Analog or $301 for P25

171.0750 would be the input

What was the Tone/NAC you had, it might not have been an image.
