Default Border Patrol

Does anyone have any info on receiving the US Border Patrol in the Buffalo area? On 163.625 Mhz, it's a P25 signal, but I'm having difficulty decoding it. My guess is it's not encrypted....

(RCVR is a Uniden BCD996T)

Thanks.

The CBP-ICE frequencies that I have found around the state have all been full time P25 encrypted.

Actually, I think I've answered my own question. This system (in Buffalo) is not ecrypted. I began hearing it again. I'm not sure if just waving my magic wand over the receivers was the trick or not.

I have noticed that listening to the communications, from time to time there are reports of people not hearing each other (broken up, distorted, basic digital break up...). My guess is that the system has its problems (there's a surpirse eh?).

Also the receiver (Uniden BCD996T) likes to adjust to some P25 stuff for a while (auto mode).

Bottom line, it's working pretty well for now.

On the encryption issue, I found that this database's home page has a P-25 reports' section (at the bottom of the page). It stated that some of the transmissions from the boarder patrol are encypted while others are not....just an FYI.

Thanks,
