Default Cdern

When I program CDERN 460.400 (110.9 PL) into my Bearcat BC898T scanner it automatically comes up in the NFM mode. What should I do.

Should I leave it in as shown above or should I program it in and change the mode to FM instead of NFM.

Please help

You want it as NFM not wide band FM, just leave it be.

Default Cdern use

I have heard some activity on CDERN within the past week. I do not hear it a lot but I would say at least once per week or so.

I more question. My handheld scanner will only let me put in CDERN as follows.

460.400 (110.9 PL) FM mode. I cannot select NFM on my handheld scanner will I still receive CDERN on my handheld being that I can only program it in using the FM mode and not the NFM mode.

Thanks for any help

They usually do a radio test/roll call around (give or take an hour) 9am each morning.
