There are a lot of things happening with Saratoga County radio. Which type of communications are you talking about?

Looks like the Public Safety committee voted to award to Motorola for about $12M.

I wonder what will happen to the equipment now operating in Providence in site trunking mode. That was installed by Capital Digitronics to get something on the air so the county didn't lose its system license a few years back, and they are not a Motorola shop.

More importantly, what's going to happen to all those 800 MHz. M7100 mobiles that we sold them with the P25 trunking ability? If they get a Motorola system, then the Harris / M/A-Com radios wont work on them. Same reason why the M7100 wont work on Colonies system.

Assuming the new Saratoga system will be P25, and according to the database Colonie's system is P25...why wouldn't the 7100 series work on those systems if they are branded as P25 compliant? You'll have to explain that one to me, because it doesn't make much sense at first blush. If what you state is true, then one of these manufacturers is obviously not adhering to the P25 standards.

M/A-Com's variant of P25 is not fully compatible with the standard.
