Default FDNY EMS question

I know when I hear "88 Geroge" on the 88 Pct channel that it is sector George within the 88 pct. Does the same apply for EMS? For example, if I hear 46 Frank, would that be a BLS unit within the 46 pct? Thanks to all in advance.

12982,

Negative.

The unit ID system used by the FDNY*EMS, while sounding similiar to the NYCPD system, is in fact quite different.

Click on http://n2nov.net/ for all of your New York City questions. Regarding EMS unit IDs click on FDNY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE 10-CODES AND OTHER INFORMATION specifically.

The unit numbers more reflect what fire battalion they operate within.........
