Not hearing Amherst NY police frequency

Havent heard anything on the Amherst NY police frequency in two days or so, every once in a while i'll catch a broken signal or something, anyone know why this is?

Amherst Police have switched to UHF. Their new frequency is 424.300 with a CTCSS tone of 110.9 Hz. They were also transmitting on their old frequency of 154.740, but have recently stopped doing so.

I should still be able to pick this up on my Pro-82 scanner, right?

The PRO-82 is capable of receiving that frequency. Whether or not you'll be able to actually pick it up depends on your location in relation to the transmitter, naturally.

VHF is back up and running,was only down on the weekend due to a system failure over the weekend per 29.

I noticed that the officers have new portable radios. Are they moving to digital?

so are they on the UHF or using the VHF system?
