Wayne county has started their upgrade of the fire EMS radio system. They are changing over from low band to VHF. The change will be a rolling change from west to east with the northwestern towns having started the week of 1/25/2011 with Lincoln, Ontario, Walworth and West Walworth either fully of partially complete. While the change is going thru all transmissions on the current low band channel (46.44) will be simulcast on the new primary frequency (151.3775) which is a repeater. When the fire side is doen the EMS frequency (155.9400) will be converted to narrow band and repeatered as well. The county has also been liscenced for five addition frequencies 156.1725, 151.0025, 151.0925, 153.8525, 153.8675. I don't have a PL for any of the frequncies, I could get it if anyone is interested.

PL Tones

These are what I was given, hopefully they're correct.

1- 734
2- 732
3- 071
4- 115

If they're not correct or don't look right let me know and I'll do some more digging.

Larry, Thanks so much for the PL tones but what frequencies are they being used for and has the channel system been changed when it comes to fire grounds etc? If you can give the freq. whats its used for the PL it would be awesome!

Question: Are they actually going to turn on the repeat function on the EMS repeater now?? I know that they had only been using it in Simplex mode previously. Here in Monroe all you could get was the dispatch, not the mobiles. The Fire repeater sounds good so far. :)

They'll turn the EMS repeater on when they go to narrow band. The plan is to convert fire (the bigger job) first then do police and EMS in a day or so each ( much easier since virtually everything is narrow band compatible).

In my area Ontario the new channel is terrible. It comes in better on frequency 453.625. Also when it does come in the pl tones are wrong according to the list provided. I am reading ctc tones for some reason. Can anybody figure this out. Bill

I agree the list is wrong. 151.3375 is PL 141.3, not DPL and 155.94 is PL 156.7.

I don't know about the reported DPLs on the fireground channels. I am too far away to receive them.

There were some issues with the audio quality while they were doing the conversion and had the low band patch up but both the Fire and EMS repeaters sound very good now.

If you scroll towards the top of this post (dated back in January), you'll notice I posted the tone of 141.3 prior to someone telling everyone the wrong DPL tones.

This is why when people post information, they should confirm the information prior to posting it here AND in the database. Just because those were the DPL tones that were "given" to someone doesn't mean they are right.

Here someone posted the wrong tones; I posted the correct one, and everyone's now just noticing this???

I have noticed more and more hearsay occuring on the frequency databases and in these forums.

I guess when I post a tone that I confirmed from a frequency, it is no good.... people would rather get information that is hearsay.

People learn about sourcing and credentials, but not the next step - credibility of the credentialed sources.

Actual monitoring and reporting by someone who understands what is happening is often more accurate than hearsay from system users, who are experts at whatever they do but tend to know little or nothing about radio.

Does anyone know the Transmit PL for 155.94? I'm know that the Receive PL is 156.7 and it correct.

Chief59026 posted the fire 1 TPL to be 734 which is in fact the correct transmit pl but 732 is not the correct Transmit PL for EMS.
