Mount Beacon has a good 220 Machine, as does PEARL. PEARL is 224.020, down 1.6, with a PL of 136.5. Beacon is 223.920, down 1.6, PL of 100.0. WECA also has a 220 Machine...224.400 down 1.6 and PL of 114.8.
Have fun!
All 220 machines are offset 1.6MHz (or 1600 khz however you want to say it).
As far as activity, you'd have to check with the repeater owners/trustees. I'm sure no matter the activity, you're one more.

The 220 MHz ham band never really caught on in the NYC-Metro area like the 440 MHz ham band did. On Long Island, LIMARC runs the 224.820 MHz repeater but it is seldom used. The 224.240 MHz in Fort Lee NJ used to be fairly active during the late 80's into the 90's however I do not know if it still is. I used to be very active on 220 MHz back then and was thinking about picking up a Jetstream 220 MHz radio just to get back into it. It really is a great band but for whatever reason, it never caught on in the amateur radio community like it did on the west coast.
224.280– no tone and temporarily off the air.....K2RVW At route 23 and Taconic Parkway when operating
