MTA Bus merging with NYCTA with a new radio system.

I read that it's going to happen sometime in the near future. The command center will still
be in East New York. MTA Bus is on the 900mhz frequency and NYCTA is on the 800mhz.
It's like night and day listening to both systems, MTA Bus comes in loud and clear while
NYCTA comes in low and noisy. Anybody have any details of this? thanks

The most recent radio-related contracts NYCTA has advertised are VHF narrowbanding for subway, transit police, LIRR and MNRR. The 800 MHz bus radio system is already heavily utilized and I doubt they will merge the 900 MHz system into the 800 one.
