The Gouverneur PD's application for a new frequency on 158.805 was recently approved. I have listened over 2 days and haven't heard a thing on it yet.

Try 155.985. According to the database its 110 watts output base. Where 155.805 is 10 watts output mobile.

155.805 will give a 5km radius , which are the mobiles

155.985 gouverneur base, for the police dept.

155.985 is the input to the sheriff repeater on 155.115.

Gouverneur PD was using 155.145 that they hadn't licensed in years.

Jefferson County is licensed for 155.145 for Fire/EMS use and they petitioned the FCC to use it, which meant Gouverneur PD had to switch frequencies.

158.805 is the new frequency that Gouverneur PD petitioned - I was surprised by the 10 watts also - but I'm thinking that was a typo and it's suppose to be 100 watts. Or maybe they figured they could cover the very small village with just 10 watts!

It may be a Canadian Line A restriction. They may not have been able to license more than 10 watts.

They might have applied for the license grant before beginning construction. In that case, you might have to listen for a few months before you hear anything.

Since they have no freq to operate on right now Dave, I bet they reprogram what few radios they have!

Gouverneur Police is currently using the village DPW frequency of 156.165. I confirmed this on Wednesday 06 July. The BC-250D tone search was slow and never did pick up the pl tone for the frequency.

156.165 has a pl tone of 167.9 when the Police are using it. The RR database says DPW uses 123.0, which I haven't been able to verify. I will post when I find out.
