we need more recent updates for westchester for the rr database all the time i look at the data for westchester i see same old freq on here does any body no any more updates for westchester thank you p.s i see on hear that doobs ferry has gone digital never hear any thing on it is 460.475 the right freq please let me no

Have you checked the NF2G Scannist Pages? Some of last night's updates were in the Westchester County listings.

Steve, last I checked the only digital departments in Westchester are Greenburgh and Yonkers. Dobbs Ferry doesn't have much activity...quiet department. 460.475 is the correct frequency for DF.

I submitted and saw that the update was posted this afternoon. The Chief of my FD just ordered the new radios for installation in our apparatus. All I can say is plug in the freq's and start listening.

dobbs ferry has indeed moved to p25 digital on 482.4500 Mhz under the call sign WQBV384. they also have another frequency listed under the same license 482.575, although i havent heard anything on that channel yet.

as far as westchester's trunking system i havent heard anything on any of the channel's. i know the system has been tested at Motorola so it is probally being staged somewhere in the county.

rockland county continues to develope there own P25 trunking system. all license's have been redone to reflect the change to centralized trunking and a new call sign has been issued WQDK886. a bidder should be picked by december of this year and from there it is an agressive construction schedule. rockland lost 4 frequencies due to apco realizing that a few of the original grants would be useless due to co channel license's. they are looking for more spectrum now. as of now it is a 9 channel, 12 site simulcast system. there are 9 transmitter sites 1 receive only site, 1 microwave only relay site and 1 network operations center.

According to an application on the FCC's website dated 11/09/05, Westchester Co. has filed an emergency application for temporary authorization to construct and test the North Zone of the new Trunked System. The frequencies for this portion have been approved by the local APCO coordinator and submitted for final approval.
According to this application the South Zone is already licensed (WQBR539) and construction has begun. The waiver is meant to provide for testing of the full system upon completion of the construction phase.

Listening to the scanner today it sounds like the Valhalla(Grasslands) tower is up and running on the new trunked system. Heard the control channel continuous data stream on 476.2375Mhz for the South Zone.

Latest news from the FCC's website, the North Zone license was issued on 11/14/05. Callsign WQDW263. Along with South Zone license callsign WQBR539 the Trunked System is now fully licensed.

Just saw there was an addition to the Westchester Co. Trunked System database. It states there is a second control channel and 5 sites have been logged.
My question is where were these sites (01,02,26,41,50) heard, and where was the second control channel heard?
The only site I have heard is Valhalla with CC of 476.2375. Was in Port Chester and Ossining today and nothing heard there.
Anyone have any info on this update?

Is anyone aware if they will ever vacate the low band frequencies?

Right now Washington County gets overwhelmed with all the traffic from Westchester County on 46.26, both from "60 Control" the local dispatch points and the units repeated off of the UHF frequencies. Just wondering....

The implementation of the PL 91.5 in Washington County will save the center from listening to them constantly, but it obviously is not going to stop the interference. Right now amazingly Westchester covers just about any unit in Washington County, again the new radio system/towers should help that as well.

The new trunked system will replace the low band radios in the apparatus. Dispatch will remain on 46.26 due to the cost of replacing all the pagers.

i added the updates to the westchester system. i logged the other control channel on wensday 12/21/05 and the other 4 sites using t4win. i have not been able to receive the control channel here in rockland in the last 4 days.

If I remember correctly from the old Fordyce board, the plan was to have the UHF departments move to ASTRO P25 Digital UHF. Also, if memory serves me right, many of these Westchester departments would have "piggy-backed" on the NYC order of the Motorola SSE5000 portables.

I just purchased a Radio Shack Pro 83. I wanted something that was easy to understand and operate.

Heard control channel data transmission for the North Zone of the new Fire/EMS System on 470.5750Mhz today in the area of the Peekskill tower. Signal heard as far South as Valhalla, Pleasantville and Ossining.

Confirmed today with my Pro 97 that the Yorktown(Mohansic) site is up with control channel of 470.5750Mhz. From my last post was not able to confirm Peekskill tower operation I only had my Pro 2051 with no metering capability. Yorktown signal is strong up into Mahopac.
