Default Which State Police Troop Patrols I 84

I know that it used be patrolled by the ZONE 1 (NYC) Thruway units (I believe in the 7500 series), but I have found NO information about that on this website or the NYSP website.
I haven't crossed I 84 in many years.
Has something changed?

Thank you

Dic

The Thruway Authority turned I84 back over to NYS DOT and NYSP a few years ago. It's currently patrolled by Troop F in Orange County, and Troop K in Dutchess and Putnam Counties.

By the way, it's academic at this point, but it was patrolled by Zone 5 of Troop T when the NYSTA patrolled it, hence the 75XX series. Zone 1 units are 71XX. Zone 1 and 5 are both in the New York Division.

Listen for 2F7X units, those are the units assigned to the I-84

Orange County

154.205 Orange County Fire Paging
157.450 Orange County EMS Paging

Regular troops use numbers that include the Troop letter.

The 7xxx identifiers used by the the Thruway patrols are their badge numbers.

According to a post here from two years ago, 2K51 through 2K55 might be the Troop K cars that patrol I-84. Unsure if that's still accurate.

That is not what he meant. He was referring to this post, and was asking if 2K7_ were the cars assigned from Troop K to I-84.

Thank you Dave and Chauffeur.

Dave...I was referring to the K Troop units, but since everything I know about the NYSP I learned from your website, I won't mention it.
I am glad to be able to thank you directly. Thank you for the time and effort that went into your website, it was (and is) an invaluable asset to me and probably thousands of others.

I will note what I hear on my trip and bring the information to the DB.

Thanks again

Dic
