FDNY Incidents on Facebook reports 6 bags now on the Breezy Point fire. Wildly varying description of how many structures are involved. MSNBC has a video that says 15 houses. FDNY Incidents says 50. Another commenter on FDNY Incidents' post says "everything from Ocean to Irving is gone" - on Google Maps I count 120 structures in that group of blocks.

Edit: Just after I posted they added a seventh to box 8300.

That ought to be interesting! Curious to know if any tunnels or subways may possibly collapse due to saturation from flooding. I'm no civil engineer, so I don't know.

I looked that area up on google earth and it's basically just a sand bar with homes, they may have to just drop everything and run when the tide comes in.

Haha that works to. I must say, FDNY,NYPD and all other agencies have done a great job responding to this storm. Not only were they on top of what was coming, surrounding states were prepared to help and back them up. From here in Indiana, we have sent out numerous tasks forces and different specialties from Search an Rescue to generators to help bring in power supplies. I just wanted to take a moment and give credit to all those who have stepped up to help out.

Average 6 FFs per unit, that comes to more than 33 companies assigned to this job.

Not including EMS and Police personnel. That's a huge amount in such a small area. If things take a turn for the worst..well much more worst, with the high tide and winds it would be insane to get them all out.
