Default Schoharie Co. digital

At about 1345 today, I heard two SCSO units talking on their main frequency when one directed the other to "go to digital". I can't find anything digital listed for them in the database. Anyone got anything?

I've got them all programmed. I hear 155.73 loud and clear off the repeater. Maybe the channel they switched to is simplex. There is no way I would hear that in southern Hamilton County.

Yes, I am in Schoharie Co and I often hear them say "go to digital". They use it briefly just for private conversations instead of cell phones. I bought 2 digital scanners (106/197) and this "digital" signal cant be listened to. Whenever they say to go to digital I do hear an obnoxious sound on certain freqa that I have programmed in for municipalities. A couple of them in the 154. range and a few in 159. range.
One for certain is 154.310. Cant remember the other exact freqs. Finally, I just locked those freqs out as the noise is unbearable. I did talk privately with someone on this forum and asked him why my digitals wouldnt work and he explained the set-up that Schoharie Co is using just cannot be picked up by digital scanners. Maybe he will chime in more.

Side note: Their other private channel they use is 156.210. They refer to it as "channel 13". You need to be close to hear it though. By the way, someone had PM'd me and said 156.210 is impossible as its not licensed to them...Cant help with that, but I know they use it. Fact.

I have logged 154.3175 in Latham which they have licensed at one of their sites; I can't remember which one. The digital mode is MotoTRBO, which cant be monitored with current digital scanners. I don't hear it used that much but it does pop up once in a while.

As for 156.210, it would not surprise me that a law enforcement agency uses an unlicensed channel. It seems to happen quite a bit with various law enforcement agencies.

FCC Part 90 permits police agencies to use frequencies at low power without a license.
