Default New Year's eve feed

Will there be a feed for just the festivities this year?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE, BrailleNote))

I listened to the S.O.D. feed last year and was very happy with the activity I could hear.

I have been running a New Year's Eve feed every year since 2007 on www.w2lie.net Feed contains "behind the scenes" action from what was known as the Dick Clark's Rocking New Years event.

This feed will again be up early 12/31 so anyone interested can hear the crew running around Times Square looking to get in those 'fill shots' of people kissing and some of the early performers ready before the show airs live.

In prior years you could hear the director on the feed but last year you could not.

If they are on the air, you'll hear them this year..

Continuing with a W2LIE.net tradition-
"Listen to the Ball Drop - From Behind the scenes" returns for another year, and will continue to do so each and every year!

Listen to ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2013 from the Director's Chair.

Since 2007, W2LIE.net has brought the action from Times Square to you via our live feeds.

True, you won't be hearing it "as it happens" due to streaming delays - but the sync should be close enough with Satellite delays for you to enjoy hearing the action while watching the live event! The feed is live now, and run well past midnight.

There was plenty of action on the feed after the sun went down. Camera crews and the director were hunting for "filler shots" to record and use during the live broadcast of the night's events.

How You can listen to the feed:
As in previous years, the feed on my "/special" stream.
From your computer: goto my Feed page at http://www.w2lie.net/apps/feeds/feeds.php
From ProScan: server=remote.w2lie.net port=5000
From your mobile device: download Scanner Radio Deluxe (apple) or Scanner Radio (android)

Updates to the feed will be posted here: http://www.w2lie.net/apps/forum/foru...opic.php?12053

73 and Happy New Years
Phil - w2lie

I have added in the following to keep my feed alive for a while:
FDNY DoITT Talk Groups (RRV, Admin, Ops, Special Events)
NYPD/FDNY InterOps

FDNY was performing Times Square Radio Tests on Special Event 1 a few minutes ago.

Once it starts to get close to 4pm, ABC starts setting up "filler" shots of couples kissing and waving for the cameras. Once this starts to happen, I'll focus the feed back onto the Directors.

And for something new this year, I'll try and bring in "NY's Strongest" into the feed after midnight.

Hi Phil- what is the actual frequency/frequencies of the ABC Director that you have for the feed?

Bob, Yes, using 450.2125. If you use proscan you can see the scanner in action. Or, if you have winamp/itunes you can see the alpha tags.

Basically the rundown active as of this moment is...

450.2125 CSQ for ABC Directors
DARS (aka: UHF DoITT) Special Event 1 for FDNY/EMS/FD Command Post Ops
EMS Citywide 1 for Primary EMS Ops
NYPD SOD - ESU/TARU
NYPD Citywide 1, Citywide 3 - NYPD Ops, Incl Traffic Command Post, Times Square Ops, etc.
NYPD MTS/17/MTN for everything outside the TSq Event Zone.

Missing or corrections welcome...
