Default Nassau County Fire

Making an unexpected trip to LI. Does Nassau County Fire still operate on the low band frequencies or has everything been switched over to EDACS? Thanks for your input.

Default Nassau County Fire

Nothing has really changed with the exception of some more depts switching to their own freq but many still use 46.10 to tone out. EDACS does have some FD assigned talk groups but are rarely used if at all.

If you have the room in your scanner, I would strongly suggest you program the entire conventional section for the Nassau Page located in the Database.

While some departments still tone out on 46.10, then on their low band battalion frequency (or personal UHF Frequency), there are MANY departments who are NOT using 46.10, or Firecom for that matter to dispatch and tone out.

If you don't have room in your scanner to load in the entire Nassau FD Section of the database, then just work on adding the Dispatch Frequencies, or the battalion you will find yourself in on your trip.

The Nassau EDACS system really only sees FD Activity from the HazMat and Fire Marshals. The battalion talk groups are VERY quiet.
