Default Interference to Saratoga Springs PD radio system

Does anyone have any insight as to who's causing the problem with the 155.535 123.0 frequency for the town police? It's quite annoying and has been an intermittent problem for a few years now. It appears to be a lawn care / snow plowing crew somewhere around the area, from the discussions that are discernible, and just close enough to get into the repeater... but usually not clearly or full quieting. Wondering why the town tolerates this. Bet it's some idiots that are running duplex with an output on the input frequency. Gotta be something stupid like that. I'll try listening on the input...158.895...and see if anything comes through.

I see 158.895 is licensed to others in the area for mobiles and control stations.

Amsterdam Public Works KGY249 is the closest, only about 20 miles away, and according to the RRDB their PL is 123.0 also.

I am sure that Amsterdam's mobiles at high locations would be within range of the Saratoga Springs repeater. Apparently neither system is concerned enough about the situation to bother changing their PL.

Westerlo and others are a possibility but Westerlo is supposed to be the Fire Department with 156.7PL so
it does not seem likely to be what was reported.

Most likely its cost prohibitive for either to change PL.....and another thought is one or the utter will be changing systems completely in the near future.. And more interesting is the fact Troop F from Greene County cant use there tower on 155.535 On Colonels chair mountain because they drown out saratoga...

Default After poking around on the FCC database

I found Amsterdam and Westerlo mentioned. Also found usage in Washington County, which isn't very far either, but the license was expired...although that means very little. I work at the hospital in town here and they have an expired license for the 155.400 link to the ambulances...and no one cares about that...even the corporate compliance officer. The ER personnel just keep ID'ing with a long expired call sign. But after looking at the alternatives, I'm gonna go with Amsterdam's highway department as the source. They're just close enough and with some mobiles occasionally hitting some higher spots, it could mimick what's going on. The nature of the radio traffic is right also. Funny thing is that SS PD totally ignores it...and has nothing done about it.

They probably just tolerate it .
I dont listed to Saratoga Springs PD all the time but I have listened to the county 911 channel for years. Has anyone heard garbled voice transmissions on the country 911 channel every now and then? Sometimes its laughing , a conversation or just chatter and its not clean voice it has more of a buzz to it as if someones talking in the background. I have never found out what it was something fuzzy on the input I assume. I know that few other towns transmit on the counties VHF input and their signal can be strong at times

There is a highway dept on county 911 also, on the repeater input.
