Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; U; en-US) Gecko/20081217 Vision-Browser/8.1 301x200 LG VN530)

I do believe, but could be mistaken, that there are a few grandfathered repeaters running under business licenses across the country on 154.570 and 154.600. Not knowing the details on the particular repeater you're hearing, I don't know if this is one.

Hunter Mountain uses MURS. They must be running a repeater for me to hear them in Ulster Cty.

I'll keep ears out for this one. Have you heard any CW ID's?

Anyone who was licensed for what became the MURS channels prior to the MURS implementation can keep using the frequency as it was before MURS, which could include repeaters.

Hunter Mountain is not using a repeater on 154.600.....that i know for sure....there in the middle of adding freq's and thats one in there mix thats going....as for 154.570 the ski patrol are on that....for now . And in checking on the FCC database......no one currently licensed has a repeater..and the ones licensed are too far away ...and i would think that it was a radio shop who said i can get ya a good deal ...... happens quite often....and no i have not heard any callsign's or cw id.....

It could be somebody using a ham transceiver configured as a repeater.

Yeah especially since so many dealers now offer extended transmit modifications.

To the OP, have you checked 154.5875 and 154.6125?
In other words, are you sure you're hearing it on 154.600

I just monitored some traffic on 154.600 DPL 226. I'm hearing it in Latham indoors with a rubber duck antenna. Makes me think it is somewhere in the Capital District. Mention of 3 East Avenue and an elevator.

I'm off today. I think I will be hunting down this station today!

Almost OT -

The Clifton Park Town Court operates a wireless microphone on the 2 meter amateur ISS downlink frequency.

I heard references to removing snow from a parking garage and also references to a "center train shed".

The train station in Rensselaer maybe?

Sounds like a good guess. It's the only place I can think of where there is a parking garage near an enclosed railroad structure.

Possibly a plowing contractor.

So it's basically the facility maintenance channel. I wonder if Amtrak is directly responsible or if there is a management company that actually runs the buildings and grounds.
