Default 851.1375 on Long Island

851.1375 is licensed to New York State [WQLE 383] and is based in Port Washington with control points in Nassau Co. and Albany. It's encrypted [ NAC466 ] and not very active. The only thing I could find for a use is "interoperablity". Any idears as to it's use?

I think something's a little iffy there.

The only active license in NYS including that freq (from the ULS search) on long island is that same freq and NAC.. licensed to NYS. I'm confused why that would be Port Washington PD if it's licensed to the State. It's also a special temporary license that expires in May and was granted in November, listed only for 16K0F3E (FM analog). So the NAC you heard OTA supports Dave, but there's no corresponding license.

Incidentally, it seems that every other license in NYS including that freq was for the statewide wireless network, with the rather funky similar-to-iDEN designator of 20K0W9W. Most of them have been cancelled, though a few remain active on special temps.

It is strange. That's why I put it out there.
