Default 5-41-0

Units with this radio ID are using Suffolk TRS TG #48336. Previously used by SCPD aviation medics to call into hospitals with patient details. Has that changed and who is 5-41-0?

I still hear them on VHF (not simulcast). I'm not sure why they use their 800 talk group most of the time and VHF some of the time, instead of the 800 talk group all of the time.

They do interfacility transports. It's usually a patient at a hospital somewhere in Suffolk County that needs to go to SBUH to get care that is not available at the originating hospital.

The radio traffic for the interfacility transports is not very exciting. If the SCPD helo is doing a medivac, you will hear the medic give his hospital presentation on this talk group.

SCPD Aviation also uses this talkgroup on occasion for Helo-Helo or Helo to Base communications.

Overall, not a busy talk group.
