NJ's 470.2375/186.2 is also patched in. Now add 851.5125 to that net hook up. Being used for escort ops.

re Milair,
the Barns ANG group (F-15's) were doing air to air exercises yesterday over W-106. but I don't think it was related to the superbowl. If they were intercept TOI exercises, then I could see them being related. But they were just your normal air-air combat dogfight type.
The "Superbowl Escort" channel I am hearing the most traffic on so far is Tac 8 interops 454.625 pl 141.3. Just heard NYC OEM with a radio check on there at 05:45 local from up here in Ct.

Rather than start a new thread, can anyone close to NYC let me know which frequency the DOITT 470 control channel is at this time. I have all the red channels from the database programmed in as control frequencies, but my XTS is giving me an out of range message, even when I went to Grand Central terminal yesterday. Either they are using one of the voice channels as a control or my radio has died.

BTW, there's tentatively scheduled for Friday (time TBD) a "stress test" of NYC area public safety radio (mostly NYPD and other city agencies, but possibly also including the feds). Basically, all the transmitters will be turned on simultaneously to measure worst-case intermod across the spectrum around the city.

Should be an interesting day to spend with a spectrum analyzer if you're in the area.

Wow cool.Good time to turn on all of my 27 radios and put them all on different frequencies. And I think the wife will finally have a reason to throw me and the radios into Long Island Sound
But seriously, that should be a cool monitoring experience. Keep us updated on the time of event when it becomes known.

It appears that 8TAC94 (853.0125MHz 156.7) is what is being used as the Super Bowl "control channel". I have heard radio tests at 1100 & 1700 hrs on this freq. Agencies heard testing are FBI-NY, FBI-Newark, Port Authority PD, NJSP, Transit PD, OEM, among a couple of others.

That's one of the linked systems being multicast; most of the large agencies have one of their IO channels linked in. You'll hear the same traffic on the NYMAC1 and NYFEDIO1 systems as well, for example. A user on one system can be talking to a user on any of the other systems while the link is up (presumably through Sunday).
