Default NYSP 700 MHz/ NYS Fair

Some big communication changes this year at the NYS Fair. Just got back, and here are a "few" of them.

154.66500 110.9 NYSP "exterior" units
852.72500 CSQ NYSP vehicular repeater w/ 154.6650
853.95000 CSQ NYSP vehicular repeater w/ 154.6650
155.46000 NAC 917 NYSP (active during the governor's visit; then silent)
155.56500 NAC 917 NYSP ENCRYPT
773.59375 NAC 917 NYSP "Fairgrounds Command" ENCRYPT; 1 unit/ portable was heard in the clear
774.54375 NAC 917 NYSP ENCRYPT the entire time
774.83125 NAC 917 NYSP ENCRYPT the entire time

155.29500 146.2 Rural Metro- Fairgrounds repeater [159.615 in]

152.90000 103.5 fairgrounds ops
159.15750 103.5 fairgrounds ops
151.92500 103.5 grandstands
151.62500 77.0 Wades Shows

There are more, but mainly just vendors.

The 800 MHz conventional repeaters that have been used in 2003, 2005 & 2009 - 2013 were not heard at all.

I wonder why they feel the need for encryption there...?

Leonard ~ With regards to a list attributed to you (I think I got that right) in another post, are there any differences/updates as far as the frequencies/PL's etc. besides the 700 encrypt? Or was your recent post just an addendum, if you will?

I realize that many of the vendors/entertainment would be different but I was more interested in the fairground ops/security type stuff.

Thanks for your help.

NYSP would encrypt all of their comms everywhere if they could afford it. It's an institutional thing about not wanting anyone outside the agency to know too much about what they are doing.

I kind of assumed that, generally speaking.

I just wondered if there was something more "fair-specific".
