As the NCPD's 4th & 5th has largely gone silent, I was picking up some low powered chatter I could barely make out on 477.1875, PL179.9, the Air/Marine UHF channel yesterday. Is this channel still active or was something bleeding onto this channel?

I am in Nassau fairly often, grew up on the city line. I heard some chatter, but barely audible on Saturday on and off between around 11:30am and 12:15pm , while in Valley Stream/Rosedale/Hewlett. Seemed odd to me as I only ever hear them on VHF and their company frequency, which they share with NYPD aviation, for air to air communications.

I've heard the same thing. A couple weeks ago, I was able to identify its usage as mobile surveillance in non-repeated mode. (Could only hear them within a couple miles of my location.) Sounds like detectives may still be using it.
