So I went through my now-dead step-grandpa's old radio scanners. He was a retired Schenectady firefighter (I'm a volunteer in the county right now) and he had an impressive 11-page list of all frequencies in the county from at least 15 to 18 years ago.

I found frequencies I recognised as well as mystery ones. I know White Eagle Rescue Squad had 3 frequencies they used, which were 46.000, 155.3400, and 155.4000, before they merged with Rotterdam Volunteer Emergency Medical Corps to form the modern-day all-paid Rotterdam EMS. Here are some other public safety frequencies I found that I did not know about:
POLICE:
155.7300 (County Sheriff State Interop)
953.3000, 954.0000, and 957.0000 (Microwave Link?)
FIRE:
46.4200 (Apparently County Fire Paging. We've always used 460.5250 AFAIK)
46.0800 (Fire Command?)
45.8800 (Mutual Aid?)
46.1000 (Communications?)
46.2000 (Communications/Glenville Fire District, which doesn't exist?)
154.2950 (Communications?)
154.4000 (Communications?)
A bunch of frequencies in the 453, 458, 460, 462, 463, and 465 range for communications.
EMS:
A bunch of frequencies in the 462 and 463 range for "Countywide EMS Dispatch/Communications" called Med-#. Pretty confusing since EMS calls are now all dispatched over our regular county fire channels, and Rotterdam EMS/old RPD Medics used Rotterdam Police's channel until 2006/2008-ish.

We currently use the following for Fire/EMS:
1. 460.5250 (Paging for all fire/EMS services except city of Schenectady)
2. 460.5750 (Used to be for county coordinators, now Niskayuna)
3. 453.5000 (Used to be Niskayuna before they moved to the old County Coordinators channel)
4. 453.6000 (Rotterdam)
5. 453.8000 (Duanesburg)
6. 453.9000 (Glenville)
7. 460.6000 (Schenectady Fire Paging and Operations. I know, I know, it's dangerous to have everything on one channel.)

Anyone know what the unknown frequencies used to be used for/if they are still used? My theory with the fire channels in the 42 range is that these used to be used until town police departments took over dispatching in the county sometime in the 70s or 80s, or until later on after the switch to PD, before we went countywide in 2014. We had a "unique" setup of having 4 (later 3 after the State Police gave up Duanesburg and gave it to Rotterdam PD) dispatching centres all paging their calls on one channel.

Many of those seem to be mutual aid frequencies for surrounding counties.
