I have been receiving some Close Call hits and can't figure out what agencies are using them.

169.175 PL 110.9 - Some mention of Rochester
166.4375 PL 100.0
165.4875
168.375
163.150
163.7125
162.900 PL 110.9 (Possible P25 encrypted) - May be Border Patrol?

Does anyone know what agencies these belong to?

166.4375 MHz (PL 100.0 Hz) is the input to US CBP NET 1, NET 9, NET 24, NET 39 and NET 43.

165.4875 MHz (PL 100.0 Hz) is the output of US CBP NET 8 and NET 25.

If you're seeing a PL tone, then the frequency is not P25.

163.150

This is a Customs Border Protection frequency I believe they use this in the Swanson sector (640). I think most of the radio traffic on 163.150 is encrypted.

It must be encrypted then because all I can hear is a rush of noise. These two frequencies seem to be used together:

162.900 PL 110.9
163.150

At a recent Border Patrol check point, I was getting Close Call hits on both of these. However, the only thing I could hear was like a rushing of noise and OTAR sounds.

So I guess Border Patrol is not using digital.. I wonder if 162.900 is the input frequency to a repeater with an output of 163.150?

Swanton sector, roughly massena into new Hampshire, is P25 encrypted and has been for some time. Buffalo Sector, roughly Erie PA to Ogdensburg, is switching to P25 eventually. the equipement has been inprocess of being installed for a couple of years now. I dont know exaclty where they are in the transition. It is being done as time allows, as all the work is in house.

I just heard numerous analog non encrypted transmissions from "640" to "9 Siera Alpha" on Net 09 - [Output = 165.6875 (100.0) Input = 166.4375 (100.0)]. The repeater and units must be really close to me because I could hear both the output and input loud and clear. The units are also using G-Star or MDC signalling because I could hear the classic squaking noise. I believe "640" is the Swanton Sector and I am not sure what unit "9 Siera Alpha" would be.

9 Alpha Sierra is an aircraft. I hear them all of the time talking to Lima 2100 on "Net 1" (165.2375 100.0 which is linked some of the times with Net 9) over here in Northwestern New York.

Thanks for the input Mike. What other federal frequencies are active over in Watertown?

Other units I have heard on Net 9 are: Xray 2300, 118 Charlie, India 2000, India 2020 and India 2030.

169.175 PL 110.9 - Some mention of Rochester is Green Mountain National Forest in Vermont.

Can you tell us more about what you're hearing on 168.375??

Not many Fed freqs are active over here -- too much interference with Canada. Border Patrol uses 163.625 pl 100.0, butr activity is sparse.

163.1500 R $363 uses 162.9000 $360 as the input
Also look for these to use the same Freq/NAC as the input
anyone know the possible site names, please reply.
