City wide ems is usually reserved for multiple causalities incidences with a potential for many patients such as fires, explosions, and hazmat. Mva’s or pd requesting an ambulance would not merit using c/w because there routine and a small potential for injuries.

EMS Citywide

subwaysurfer is correct. EMS Citywide is reserved for MCI's, whether actual or potential. Since EMS was merged into the FDNY, we are now being proactive by sending units to all "All-Hands" fires (10-75's) and multiple alarms. Citywide is also used for special events, chiefs' communications, and any other radio traffic which may or may not impact on the response of ambulances, ie: ambulance accidents with or without injuries. If you want to hear action, you will hear it first on the boro frequencies. This include "jobs" that may/will escalate to an MCI. The Database has all the freqs and pl's.
