Talking Family Pass !

My son and I took our Technician License Exams and both passed! A member of the local radio club we belong to gave us each a brand new Yaesu FT-60 radio. We will both be working the 4th of July Parade this coming week with our County Club.

Welcome to the extended family of amateur radio. You're gonna love it. Now, get to work on your general and join us on the hf bands! You'll never regret the upgrade.

Hey there everyone, I'm just as excited as my dad to have passed. Can't wait for my callsign so that I can start chatting it up.

We have been putting our radios to good use. We went to this years ARRL Field Day, worked the July 4th Parade and fireworks, taking part in the Nets and are working the Pioneer Days Parade here in Utah. (July 24th.) We are really having a good time and chewing the rag on the local repeaters.

That is certainly a great way to help ham radio grow, families getting their licenses together and taking part in the activities together. You'll realize you won't have to use cellphones so much between each other and other ham radio friends and you'l see it is far superior than FRS/GMRS or any of those other lame services.
