I've been hearing about that on the news too. I have mixed feelings about what the whole thing.
One one side, the company can't afford the salaries, insurance costs and who knows what else.
On the other side, the employees already took a previous pay cut so I guess they didn't want to take another one. But at least they would still have a job and medical insurance, although they would be paying higher premiums.
I kind of feel like they got screwed by their own union.

If it weren't for Hostess Twinkies what would we replace the famous line from the movie 'Ghostbusters' "That's one big twinkie" with??

I went to Winn Dixie and they didn't had much. I bet someone will buy all of them sell them at a high price.

You should check the flea bay, go to the high price items, as high as one million dollars (twinkies), even made the news last night.

Apparently they can't hold out for the expected business boom from Colorado and Washington State! (Evil Grin)

Never had a beer flavor Twinkie but I learned quick Pabst tastes like Twinkies. That's when I switched to bathroom beer...

You probably have not heard of Tivoli, but it was worse than Pabst; 48 cents a quart back in 1965--may it rest in peace

Ha ha, of course! And at the same time, trying to figure out how they were made in the first place.

Don't expect a judge to settle anything, if you check the history of the company you'll see the strike was forced giving management the excuse they needed to close the doors, take the money and run. It was the culmination of many CEOs raping the company, leaving with a hefty golden parachute and union concessions only this time they didn't concede. They can arbitrate until the cows come home, they'll simply refuse to agree with anything the union rep proposes and that's that, end of story.

Get the terms straight. You can not arbitrate anything "until the cows come home." In arbitration the parties agree to abide by the decision of the arbitrator. In MEDIATION, which is what the judge sent the parties back to try again, the parties agree to keep talking in the hope of reaching a settlement.
