GOOD for her, I'm glad she unloaded on the perp although jhp's should have been in her weapon so he would have dropped sooner!
A perfect example of how a weapon in the right hands CAN save lives!

Nice grouping.

How is this World news? It's barely even national US news.

That's what I thought too, but either he had a bottle load of adrenalin keeping him going, or she was firing light practice rounds.

That's my point. It's nothing even noteworthy.
Why was it posted?

Why did you question it?
Most all of the threads started in this forum have very little to do with what could be defined as strictly "World News", some of which are even less noteworthy than this one.
World News and Events - The RadioReference.com Forums
Just out of curiosity, why have you chosen to complain about this one, and not all the others?
I guess maybe you have determined that all the other threads qualify as "World News", and this one does not?
Again, just curious!

Maybe he, like the rest of us, is fed up with seeing BS posts all over RadioReference and has decided to finally complain about it. The only thing relevant to "the world" on the first page might possibly be Jack Klugman's death, and that's a stretch at that.
This is reminiscent of the guy GreatLakes who used to post completely irrelevant "news items" of varying levels of truth in the Tavern back when there was no World News forum - dozens of posts a day for zero reason.
Feel free to keep your regionalized, local news in your regionalized, local forums. In order for something to be valid as world news, it should be relevant to the world. One person getting shot (unless that person is of world importance i.e. a world leader or prolific celebrity) is not world news.

Well, I guess if the so-called "BS" posts here were as offensive as you make them out to be, the *real* moderators would have put a stop to it by now, instead of moving regional stories TO this forum FROM those regional forums when they contain no news about scanning.
One example of many:
911 call, First responders are sent to the wrong boro. result a child dies.
Seems like you're implying that the mods aren't doing their job properly.
Or maybe the forum title simply means news and events from all over the world?

^ At least that type of post might be relevant to the board. This thread makes no sense at all. OP dropped a link to something with no explanation, hence the "And?"
Meaning 'and, the rest of the story is ............ ?'
Thousands of people get shot in the US and Canada every day for all kinds of reasons.

I made "an editing error in the production process" to my new thread. I copied and pasted my 35-year-old Jason Wilson shot to death thread title and forgot to add type "almost" to "shot to death"
Glad I didn't screw up the link to the article's full text. I did not intend to make the event sound worse than it really was.

Why all the squabbling over posting when you could be having a flaming gun debate?

Hey Warren
I looked you up a bit and although i'm a native NY'er I'm currently hanging my hat in 3 land and saw that you liked trains well G.E locomotive plant is at the end of my driveway, anytime the newest latest greatest LOCO comes out they parade it around on there test track (closed private line) and then she sits for photo ops at the end of my driveway, or if i make a right i got the 6 pairs of tracks that are the coast mainline 1000 feet away and i can shoot from a bridge or from trackside and since my flashes are optical and radio i can place them at the track level get exposure detail back from them to calculate my shots and shoot from overhead but light from the track or vice versa all well listening on my BCD 396XT Uniden if you know cameras i'm using a Canon 5 D Mark III with straight 2.8 L glass or better.

Wow, I think we're just about close to meeting every type of cliche post common to message boards.
I do agree the forum needs a better name than "World News".

Based on this thread, may I recommend something like "News (or at least unsubstantiated rumors) affecting a large number of folks (one or more anyway) that may be of wide-spread interest (or at least interesting to the person posting it)." Or is that too long for a forum name?
