Secrets of FBI Smartphone Surveillance Tool Revealed in Court Fight
"Rigmaiden, who is accused of being the ringleader of a $4 million tax fraud operation, asserts in court documents that in July 2008 Verizon surreptitiously reprogrammed his air card to make it respond to incoming voice calls from the FBI and also reconfigured it so that it would connect to a fake cell site, or stingray, that the FBI was using to track his location."
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.'
I guess the above oath taken by every government official doesn't mean much anymore.
Location: Somewhere in this room. Right now, you're very cold.
While the government's use of electronic surveillance equipment such as this without a warrant is pretty disturbing, I'm having a hard time finding sympathy for some lowlife who stole $4 million dollars worth of normal working class moe's tax refunds. I hope all the victims of this sleazebag are able to get their money back.
