A Troop C7 Trooper was shot shortly after 6:00 pm in Durham on Highway 70. BOLO for a Black Nissan MAxima with 30 day tags driven by a white male, with short blonde hair. Investigation ongoing.

Possible Suspect vehicle found in parking lot in area of Roxboro St and Avondale Dr in Durham. This is area of Roxboro St and I85.
SHP Trooper is in surgery and is not "out of the woods" yet so please keep him and
his family/friends in your thoughts and prayers.
The spot where the shooting occurred (Hwy 70 and Cheek Rd) is very familiar to me as I pass through it twice a day on my way to and from my job at the radio shop. I know the Trooper in passing through other contacts.
