Due to Op-Sec I will not post my thoughts but I will say that there is conflicting information regarding mode of transport for Obama from KNKT->KNCA.

What does everyon suggest monitoring as I am bringing a spare scanner to work with me. One for the MCB TRS, One For VIPER and a spare digital for any other recommendations!

Will be interesting!

You might want to take a look at http://www.radioreference.com/forum...smill-house-democratic-conference-2009-a.html .

This forum reported on the Kingsmill Democratic Conference and the visits of Biden and Obama.

also there is a NOTAMS out on the visit to Camp Lejune: 9/6915 NOTAM Details

Looks like he is flying into Cherry Point MCAS and then either taking a helicopter or motorcade to Camp Lejune.

The NOTAMS gives you the times.

They did the same thing in Williamsburg. Had Marine One and escorts at the Williamsburg-James City Airport and limo's in a local fire station. Both Obama and Biden took the limo's.

Expect Obama to be late on arriving.....that seem to be a pattern.

If he goes by motorcade, then expect air cover with the helicopters.

Therefore, listen to the air frequencies for the Camp Lejune area.

The helo's will also position at Camp LeJune for quick exit if necessary.

Air Force One was operating on 133.9 MHz when it arrived at Newport News.

Here's a news report on where he will be:

- MyNC News Homepage

President Barack Obama will deliver an address at Camp Lejeune on Friday, the White House announced Wednesday.

His remarks will take place at the Goettge Memorial Field House, Building 751 McHugh Blvd.

Obama's visit comes following word from administration officials that he is expected to order all U.S. combat troops to leave Iraq by August of next year.

Sorry, only pics I have are burned into my own memory ! Never fool with cameras, enough work to handle the six radios in the car !

I spent the morning going up to a special spot I use just a few miles from my house to view the Marine One flight going DIRECTLY overhead everytime from Cherry Point to Camp Lejeune at a very low altitude.....

They brought down 5 helos from HMX-1 this time......two VH-46's took the lead....followed a min later by another VH-46 and the two main VH-3's in tight formation.....

All in all, a splendid display ! Nice radio ops too......

I was surprised that the Secret Service Presidential Detail Repeater on 164.8875 was FULL SCALE here in Cape Carteret...halfway between Cherry Point and Jacksonville....pegging the s-meter ! Makes me think they might have been using a frequency agile unit remoted thru an existing repeater on the Stella towers.....Secret Service "Charlie" 165.375 was normal simplex strength with various units....

The ground crews at Cherry Point were having a devil of a time with a flock of Turkey Vultures that had taken up residence next to the runway ! They were immune to pyrotechnics.....being vultures, the sound of guns and the sight of camo/khaki just means there's going to be an impending meal close by soon !
