Upper Hominy had one licensed a few weeks ago. It was submitted and added but I've yet to hear a peep on it. I did catch one of their guys say to switch over to private....but I never heard them. In the past, they've utilized one of the simplex Fireground Channels that I can't pick up from my house. I'll add the new channel in and see if I can catch some traffic and get a tone for it. Thanks for the heads up.

Just a few suggestions Marshall, UNCA is now operating on the Asheville TRS. They have completely removed they're VHF capabilities. And the BCSO Channel 2 (154.055) that I submitted a while back was just bleed over from another channel. It can be removed. 154.0625 MHz is simply BCSO Channel 2 & 154.0325 MHz is simply BCSO Channel 3. Apparently they have a VHF/800 patch setup with the city....I'm trying to figure out what the TG/conv freq pair is. Hope this helps!
And Thanks for the organization....my OCD has been driving me nuts everytime I reference anything there lol

Edit: Mission Communications 2 can be removed as well.... it's the same as the Mission Ambulance dispatch.

Oh yeah next go round- ALL the UHF freqs for the VFD's are no longer valid. They were going to be the LTR Passport TRS for the county, this system never came to fruition. They do have a patch set up on SO 1 to the Asheville TRS, and VFD's/EMS also have patches in place. I am not sure which of the VFD freqs is the patch in to the AFR's tg's. EMS has a permanent patch to AFR Fire-Med the uhf freq is still I believe 462.9500 encoded to AFR Fire-Med. have to check the stuff I still have from when I lived there. the newest freqs most likely won't be active on repeaters for a bit... but you may be able to get em on simplex till the repeaters are up and running. Thats the experiences I had when they were setting up the narrowband for Wville PD, and the narrowband stuff for VFD's.... Buncombe is moving right on up. :)

Same with the VHF Lo freqs labelled EOC/VFD. I've only heard what seems to be the County School Office on one of the freqs. Can you clarify the patch on SO 1? In the radios I have seen...it's been a speficif channel set up near channel 8 or so. I haven't heard anything on MED 9 w/ a patch. Let me know if you find info from the past.

Most of the simplex ops are on the outskirts of the county. I cant get much from Skyland.

Like I said, send any infomration that you had from the past and see if I can get a few hints to start looking for new stuff, milf.

OK here is the BCEMS-AFR info... Mind this is now going on three years old...
EMS MED- UHF: 463.1750 ENC AFR FIRE-MED

I beleive this is also the VIPER patch that SMAT was testing .... I think that they have a specific tone for the patch in.... never did label that tone though.

BCSO-APD: SO-1 soft patch for interop during major disaster/emergencies
BCSO-BCEOC-APD-AFR: SO/EOC-5 Hard Linked VHF soft patch to TRS PS ALL-CALL
BCSO-APD: SO-8 soft patch APD dispatch to BCSO units for regular interop. (May be a hard patch now)
BCSO-UNC(A)PD: Countywide (24) Of course no longer valid.
BCSO-NCSHP: Statewide High Band *rarely used as far as I know*

BCSO PRIMARY CHAN LINEUP- I got this from a deputy's radio that lived right accross from me.

155.4300 CH SO1, TA5 Primary Operations
154.0625 CH SO2 Warrant Team, Car to Car, Tactical Countywide 2
154.0325 CH SO3 Tactical Countywide 1, Secondary Operations when 1 is emergency.
155.6925 CH SO4 Court Security, Prisoner Escort, Jail Ops
158.8050 CH SO5/EOC5 Interop with Emergency Management
151.3475 CH SO6 Emergency Response Team/SWAT *Soft patch with APD SWAT* (Encryption Capable)
The next are Tactical/Scene, and Interop-

154.0100 CH SO24 Countywide Common Law 1 *ALL VHF agencies* (Old)
154.8375 CH SC1 Scene Ops/Tactical Local 1 (ENC Capable)
155.6400 CH SC2 Scene Ops/Tactical Local 2 (ENC Capable)
159.0525 CH SC3 Scene Ops/Tactical Local 3 (ENC Capable)
155.8800 CH SO25 Countywide Common 2 (Old)
155.4750 CH SO7 Nationwide Law Enforcement Emergency

There is one other he let me see but its for interop special ops with the Blue Ridge Parkway Rangers and I would have to have their consent to share that one. At least thats what the deputy said.

The EOC still does a simulcast tone out on the primary Low Band freq... The secondary is still online, but I think it isn't in use.
I got all the VFD info from four different firefighters in the county.

Oh and for Marshal or any other NC ADMIN-
The city of Asheville Conventional 800 MHz freqs-
Only the Fire Dispatch one is dedicated AFR, the rest of the repeaters are ALL Public Safety. I monitored them all during a severe storm that knocked the TRS offline for two days.

It was that very storm that was the final straw for City Council to push for the upgrades to the system to a multisite Smartzone.

I'll plug that UHF EMS/AFR patch in and see if it's active.
155.88 (Old County wide Interop) has been handed over to Biltmore Forest (they regularly mock the residents with their radios now)
Are the Scene/Local channels simplex like fireground channels? I never hear them.

I meant the 46 MHz freqs....the 45.32 Fire Dispatch is still active, I understand. I haven't heard anything but one of the 46 MHz freqs and that was Buncombe County School Office.

The scene chans are ALL simplex just like the counrty FG's..... And are the most likely to get encrypted out of any of them if they feel the need. Try all the UHF MED freqs , cept M3 as M3 is the EMS to MSJ ER's as they still do a interop on Fire-Med daily... heard one last night online. The VHF Lo Band as far as I know are all being used by other agencies..... Don't know if the West Buncombe LB repeater is dead or not.... Eventually all the BoE will get high band or UHF gear.
Is AB Tech ever going to upgrade to real police? Heck they are the Police Academy for the region!

I never hear any traffic on the MED channels minus Haywood dispatch and patient reports, I run a tone search on each freq. I'm pretty sure the W. Bunc LB Rptr is dead, not a peep out of it in 2 years. With all of the progress and upgrades in Bunc County, I figure all of the LB VHF will die away soon. All departments are upgrading to VHF repeaters.

As for AB Tech...I've never made an attempt to listen in for them...but you do make a good point about the security coverage of a regional Police Academy lol
