My opinion, maybe we should look into a subforum like some of the other states have for incidents and breaking news. If your thread peaks enough interest, then maybe it could be a sticky within that forum. I do like your idea though; this is just my two cents.

I think many have forgotten these days that you're not supposed to put information out about what you hear on your scanner, and that this is a bad idea. Being on the other side of your scanner, I surely wouldn't like you posting information about an incident I'm working in real time, because you just never know....
Anyways, that's just my opinion. Not trying to start an argument.

This is true, there's even a sticky regarding the ongoing sensetive info. I figure a subforum would be general enough to say that "Hey, there's a training exercise going on in this county", or "There's a large fire here," or "Hurricane evac ops are on VIPER Event A2". I completely side with you thorpe, I was just hoping to clarify the aims for posting a general idea of what's going on, not conveying an up to the minute sensetive tactical situation.

As I have said in the stuck thread at the top of the forum posting of ongoing sensitive operations will not be allowed. Jthorpe knows me well enough to know that I will not let any public safety personnel be put into danger due to someone wanting to be "the one with the scoop". If there is no security risk to anyone involved with the operation then the info can be posted here in the NC Forum. Example of this would be the NC State Fair each year.
Any Questions?
Feel free to email me.

Good point Marshall. I know you wouldn't allow that to happen.

Well actually I agree... that's why I have a delay on it. So I guess I am not totally LIVE

Right... that's why I have a delay in my broadcast. I am the one on the other side of the radio often.

I appreciate the feed you offer sbirroscan and hope that it continues well into the future...to ease anyone's concern about any RR.com feed one of the agreements a feed provider makes is the following:
Quote:
Feed Providers are not allowed to broadcast: - SWAT "type" operations if on dedicated channels or talkgroups
- Narcotics / CID / Investigations or other tactical operations
- Dedicated channels or talkgroups for Ambulance to Hospital Communications
- Dedicated Federal Government or Military Communications
- Any commercial service broadcast (FM/AM/TV etc)
- Music or talk show of any kind (commercial or non-commercial)
- DJ or other type of similar activity (commercial or non-commercial)
- Open Microphones
|
Which covers concerns listed above...
sbirroscan's feed is a valuable service and he follows the RR.com feed providers TOS with no issues.
