When Buncombe County went on their new VHF simulcast system, the channels were licensed (KDC300) for narrowband operation. Sheriff's Channel #1 (155.430/156.150) continued to transmit in wide-band mode, presumably because other agencies routinely communicating with BCSO were not yet narrow-band capable.
Can anyone tell us if Channel #1 has now gone to narrow-band?

What is the best way to determine if a channel is FM or NFM? I've only got a scanner, no fancy monitors and what not. Quality sounds the same with the channel set to FM or NFM, so that's out of the question. Does anyone have any input?

Sheriffs channel 1 still operates the same along with all other frequencies in the county to the best of my knowledge The city of Asheville now works off a trunked system

Monitored input of 156.150 with encode tones of 151.4 and 162.2 yesterday. May be more if there is a tone for each site. Output of 155.430 and 91.5 as usual.
