Fred, the information for SHP communications is located in the database, click the "database" tab at the top of the header bar and navigate to NC. If you help us out by posting you're location and which troop & districts you would ilke to monitor, we can help you determine where to get started. NCSHP uses different means of communcations all throughout the state.

Alright Fred, could you also post the scanner that you're trying to monitor the highway patrol with? I should've asked for that earlier as well.

Looks like you're in the troop F-5 district.

Here's the VIPER database:
Voice Interoperability Plan for Emergency Responders (VIPER) Trunking System, Various, North Carolina - Scanner Frequencies

Here's the map with all the districts/channels:
http://www.radioreference.com/data/images/a/992/NCSHP07.jpg

Program the closest (and surrounding) VIPER sites, and the talk-groups that you want to monitor. Also program channel 7 (42.760) & 8 (42.640) as low-band still might be used in your area.

Happy monitoring.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8330/4.5.0.186 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/104)

Just do as I did, and program every CC, and every district in the state. You are guaranteed not to miss anything!
