Thanks to you and all the others who told me about the weekly updates. I will try again next Monday or Tuesday. Have a great weekend and 4th of July.

Well I got a lot accomplished tonight but we still have a good bit to
finish up tomorrow morning. I need to give the ol' fingers a rest from typing
and try to get some zzzzs.
As it is pretty obvious the VIPER P25 System has 3 Zones:
Zone 1 is (mostly) Central NC
Zone 2 is (mostly) Western NC
Zone 3 is (mostly) Eastern NC
I have gotten pretty much Zone 1 completed and have started into Zone 2.
I hope to complete Zones 2 & 3 tomorrow AM.
Once I pull all of the non-Wake County Sites out of the legacy VIPER system I will
rename that system to be the "Wake County Simulcast System" which will have a single System ID of 6038. I know not as catchy as VIPER but that is the official name.
Back to work in the morning

Default New site

Heard a strong Control Channel on 860.4625. Came up as site 01-67. I didn't see this one on the most recent update from Marshall. Was this the site that was previously listed as Apex?

Default Spout Springs GPS data correction...

Marshall or one of you other dedicated database administrators

The Spout Springs site is showing Longitude of W -78.07083 when it should be -79.07083. I confirmed this with the actual license data. The info being downloaded currently puts the tower outside of Goldsboro instead of actual location in Harnett County. I noticed this driving near the actual site on Hwy 87 earlier today.

The database is not done yet folks so please hold your questions
until after it has been completed.
Again: Patience is needed.

Allright folks. I have completed the changes.
The legacy VIPER system is now the "Wake County Simulcast System":
Wake County Simulcast Trunking System, Various, North Carolina - Scanner Frequencies

And I have finished moving the sites from the legacy VIPER site listing to the
VIPER P25 Listing:
VIPER Statewide P25 Trunking System, Varies, North Carolina - Scanner Frequencies

Are we missing sites? Of course we are.
Right off the top in Zone 1 I see we are missing site 19 (Eno Mtn), site 23 (High Rock Lake),
site 24 (Hosley Forest), site 28 (Lillington), site 45 (Robbins USC), and site 59 (Vass).

So we still need YOUR help! Please submit VERIFIED sites through the submission process (in other words don't just post them here in the forum and expect them to get updated).

And of course as you verify talkgroups please submit them as well.
Thanks for helping us make YOUR database as accurate as possible!
Happy Monitoring

Default Newton Grove Site

The Newton Grove Site (001-036) is missing a control channel in the database. I am showing the primary as 853.775 and the alternate as 852.825.

Marshall I know you've probably heard it 100 times over today but I wanted to pass along my thanks as well (especially since I'm building a whole new "codeplug" for my 396XT). Even more so for those that rely on the database updates for their HP model scanners. Not all of our "family" here at RR is radio savy and I know your hard work, along with the hard work of all of our DB admins is appreciated by those folks even more. Hopefully you can get some much deserved rest now

I live within driving distance of the Hosley Forest site. Maybe I can get over that way tomorrow. I have a 996xt, but I'm not sure how to verify the control and alternate channels. If someone can point me in the right direction I will try to verify that site.
Thanks

Thanks
1) In the 996XT Navigate to Menu->Search for...->Scroll Down to you see "Edit Custom".
2) Select one of the Custom Search Ranges then select "Edit Srch Limit" and enter
850Mhz->855Mhz as the first range.
3) While still in the custom range settings menu scroll down to "Set C-Ch Only" then select "C-Ch Only Mode" to ON.
4) Do the same thing for the range 769Mhz-775Mhz.
5) Do a search on the ranges above. At some point when the scanner comes across a CC it will display at the top of the screen "SID:01FCh-0xxx" where xxx is the RFSS (Zone) and Site Numbers. An example is the SHP C&L site here in Raleigh. The scanner displays "SID:01FCh-0142" which means we are seeing RFSS (Zone) 1, Site 42. That matches up to the database. So we want to find Zone 1, site 24 (Hosely Forest) so we want to search until we see "SID:01FCh-0124". Once you come across that CC then we will know what the CC of that site is.

Program a wildcard and you should be good to go! Then you can record any new talkgroups that you find that aren't in the DB, and submit them!

Are the Orange County TGID's the latest ones? I have a Homepatrol without the extreme upgrade. I entered the ones from the database but I am getting nothing.
