I now have three viper towers to monitor in harnett co and two in Cumberland and the hoke co tower for a total of six towers not bad

Been hearing 60612 and 60615 in Caldwell & Burke counties. Assuming it's DEA

Are u trolling these forums? I've seen you post numerous posts/threads recently when the answer to your question is already in the database. You can use the Find feature on your internet browser on the database page and search for the TGID that way. The TGID you just posted is listed in the database as DEA Asheville.

Been hearing what sounds like law enforcement agency using 52644 in Raleigh on the West Raleigh SHP C & L tower, not in database. Any ideas?

Just in case anyone is wondering i have found the talkgroup that johnston county fire and ems uses for interop with wake county. It is 26002. This was confirmed by using a Johnston County fire portable on the Viper FE channel. This has been submitted to the database for posting

Anybody down East have any idea what is going on with the Rose Bay (Hyde Co.). Viper Site?

I know the Highway Patrol cancelled the license for the site.

Just wandering if the site is going to be moved, relicensed or completely done away with.

I know there is still some State of NC frequencies for that site, but no Viper stuff anymore.

Can't seem to find out any pending or future licenses for the site in this database or the FCC database

either.

Please advise

David

Damn I wish I still lived in Wilmington. VIPER looks like one hell of a system. It was just getting started when I was there in 2008.

VIPER in Wilmington is not very active for the immediate area. Brunswick County is active, but Wilmington P.D. and the New Hanover Sheriff's Office are on the awful sounding New Hanover P25 system and they're both encrypted. I was never able to find out why the NHC P25 system sounds so terrible, both on my HomePatrol and 536HP!!

I didn't realize that Wilmington was encrypted as RR database doesn't reflect that. That sucks. When I was there in 2008 they didn't even have that P25 system yet.

Yes, it does. I was very excited when I moved here because they hadn't yet encrypted and I had no idea they would. Came as a surprise but I'm pretty sure this is the wave of the future. It's not if, it's when...

Default NC VIPER P25

Based on local monitoring of (infrequent) radio transmissions, Macon County law enforcement seems to be using VIPER at times. I have projected what I believe to be the assigned talkgroups for Macon County. I will confirm these over time if, and when, they become more active:

29000...................... Macon County Emergency Management
29001....................... Macon County EMS
29002....................... Macon County Fire
29003....................... Macon County Mutual Aid
29004....................... Macon County Law Enforcement
29005....................... Macon County TAC

Been hearing TG 52644 on Viper in Raleigh, not in database and can't really tell if it is LE or security. Anyone have any ideas about this one?

Hearing TG# 23010 tonight. It seems to be Henderson County Sheriff. Could be a TAC channel.

Monitored what sounded like NC Dept of Corrections (now under Dept of Public Safety) during an escape earlier today in Alexander County. Monitored this from Burke.

I have been listening to TG 46541 off of the Wake Co North Durant site and have not been able to positively identity it. It may be a patch from the Wake Co Simulcast System, maybe Wake Co SO Dispatch? Can anyone tell me who this TG is assigned to? . Thanks
