Heyo there Stranger
Jim, a couple of things to consider:
1) What tower(s) are you using to try to pick up Orange Co comms?
If you are trying to use the Wake Simulcast you will always be out of luck
as Orange County Comms are not designed to be carried on the Wake Simulcast.
If you want to monitor Orange Co Comms you will need to use one of the following sites:
--6038-14 Chapel Hill
--6038-12 Laws
--6038-20 Hillsborough
In additional to the above you can hear "spill over" traffic on the 2 Durham VIPER sites:
--6038-06 Camden Ave
--6038-16 Cole Mill Rd
Off the Camden Ave site across the street here in NE Durham I am currently hearing Orange County Sheriff & Chapel Hill PD being dispatched to calls.

Brunswick Co going through rebanding. Pea Landing yesterday, Supply today. I don't have all the info, but looks like basically 15mhz down. Have the new control channels programmed in, seems to be working fine on my PRO-106.

Default Mama Air Ops

Good morning all. Just an FYI I am sure the listeners in Western NC know this already but the main traffic
off this talk group 51120 is Mission transport crews. Normally facility to facility transports. I didn't know if there is a plan to give them there own talk group in the future or just let them have this one. Marshall is there a way to maybe update the tag for this talk group? Thanks Jeff

There is a good chance that it has. Do a search in the 853.000Mhz-854.000Mhz range and let us know what you find out!

SHP=State Highway Patrol.
TSU=Technical Services Unit.
Basically the radio/computer geeks within the Highway Patrol.
What you probably heard was encrypted radio traffic of TSU Techs
talking back and forth.
